Why Collie Rescue?

Text Box: Sable – My Inspiration

Sable, a two year old sable and white female, was a rescue whom I adopted as a companion to my own Collie. Unfortunately, after less than two years with me, Sable developed a brain tumor as a result of severe blows to the head from her previous owner.

She was in pain from the tumor and was unable to recognize me or her companion, so I was forced to make the very sad decision of sending her to Rainbow Bridge. On that dreadful day, just before she closed her eyes for that restful everlasting sleep, she looked at me with her sweet brown eyes, and my own eyes filled with tears I told her “I will always love you and remember you. I’m sending you to a place where you will never hurt or suffer again.” Sable closed her eyes and went to that wonderful place in the sky, leaving with me her soul as inspiration and her spirit to give me the strength to rescue others of this beautiful and proud breed. Sable stands beside me with every rescue.

Because of Sable’s unfortunate earlier years, I have dedicated my time, life and love to rescue and restore these wonderful Collies back to health so that they may once again walk upon this earth proudly and with dignity as they once did before they experienced their horrific circumstances.
