Text Box: We found Barbara's site after the death of our beloved Brady, a CRLNE (Collie Rescue League of New England) adoption. He was quite old, and his death thankfully was peaceful. We were there to help him pass over. After his death I swore it would be months before I could even look for another collie, but as all collie lovers know, that is a foolish thought.

I started going into all the collie rescue sites on line. My heart was broken over and over again as I applied for dogs from out of state, and received no word, or simply a we don't adopt out of state. CRLNE had no collies at the time, a good thing, but very hard for me to take. When I found Barbara's site, I saw Dee, and it was love at first sight. I cried as I filled out the adoption application, positive that I would get the same response I had received over and over. But that was not to be the case. Barbara contacted me almost immediately. She was very cautious in her placement of Dee, and I knew that she loved her collies, as much as I do. I knew that Dee was in the best of hands, but I wanted her in my hands so badly. I went through such emotional traumas, I'm sure people thought I was completely gone over the edge. When Barbara called and said Dee was mine, I cried again.

We made arrangements to meet in Virginia, and Dee, now known as DeeAnna, started her long trip to Vermont and snow. She fit in with the other three dogs in our home, as if she had always been a part of the family, and is even learning to deal with the cold weather, probably better than us tried and true Vermonters. She thinks chasing kittens is a cool game, made up especially for her. Since she is so beautiful we also gave her a name suitable for AKC registration, even though she can't be registered. Her name is Wilson's Bright-Eyed Princess DeeAnna. We can't thank the Leggette's enough for all their help, support, patience, and mostly the love they have for lost souls, and the effort they go through to give those lost souls another chance. Thank God for the Leggette's and for our DeeAnna.
