Text Box: Lady Girl

This grand old gal, Lady, came to Collie Rescue of Mississippi in February, 2001. Due to her advanced age and having heartworms she was unadoptable so we placed her into our sanctuary program. Lady enjoyed life at Collie Rescue and would dance and bark with delight when she got to come out for playtime.

Lady is a perfect example of why people should consider adopting an older collie. While their time may be limited, the older dogs offer greater love without the problems of a younger dog such as chewing, excessive barking, or housebreaking.

Unfortunately, time caught up with her and she went to Rainbow Bridge in June, 2002. While we do not know what kind of life she had before, we do know that she lived out the rest of her life in a style befitting such a grand lady..

Mommy loves you Lady. Thanks for letting us come into your life.

After word— I choose the classic rock hit, “Lady” by Styx since it was on the radio shortly after returning home from Lady’s final trip to the vet.
