Text Box: I don't know much about Reilly other than he was picked up off the streets as a stray, was approximately 5 years old and the name I had given him. He was brought into the local shelter where he was cared for during the next five days through his required holding period. When the fifth day arrived his time was up due to an over crowded shelter and then the call came in. I agreed to take Reilly in immediately and had made arrangements to pick him up that next morning.

Unfortunately, he was evidently very ill and the following morning when my husband was getting ready to make his journey to bring Reilly home, Jim received a phone call which informed him that Reilly had passed on sometime during the early morning hours. The kennel workers came in that morning to find him laying on the floor with bloody vomit all around him and blood still draining from his mouth. When I came home from work that afternoon and found no Reilly, Jim explained what had happened.

I was so upset that Collie Rescue of Mississippi could not save him in time due to the required holding period that I felt compelled to write about his plight to keep him remembered as my Annie who passed May 4, 2000 who was another rescue we could not reach in time.
