Text Box: Hi everyone! It’s me Will with an update. I know a lot of you have been asking Mom about me so this is what is going on. Oh, before I get into my update, I need to tell you guys something! I forgot to mention in my last update that I am on crunchy food now for about three weeks! Boy, it sure does taste better than that mushy stuff I had to eat. Now I’m beginning to feel like a real Collie again! Now all I have to do is be patient and wait for my new nose! Now, this is my update!

As you all know from the last update I was scheduled for my second surgery for reconstruction of the nose on February 5th which was cancelled due to my developing another infection. Since their findings, I have been placed back in ICU on heavy duty antibiotics to get rid of these two bacteria that have infected me. As of now, it has been two weeks since I have been placed back in ICU and hooked up to an IV.

Any way, they scheduled me for surgery again on the 19th of this month and cancelled that to. Boy, this is getting very frustrating as I know it is for Mom too. So, instead of surgery they took a culture of me to see how this antibiotic is working with this infection and took blood work in anticipation that I will be going into surgery either tomorrow or Tuesday but, after receiving a phone call this morning from Kathryn it looks like tomorrow will be a go. Thank goodness my second surgery won’t be as long as the first one, which took four hours, due to my complication with this blasted infection.

Kathryn also informed Mom it was her understanding that Dr. Shores anticipates keeping me here for another four weeks as he wants me here for the duration of my surgeries, which will make it ten weeks that I will be stuck in this place. Also, as long as I have these bugs in my nose, as Kathryn calls them, they will not let me go home as I have to be on an IV and watched over very closely in ICU. MAN, what a bummer!!!!!!! GOSH, I just want to go home and be with Mom and her other dogs that look like me!

Mom wanted to come up to visit me either this past Friday or tomorrow as dad is leaving town for two weeks but, Mom came down with some kind of virus that she has been fighting since Wednesday along with a fever. I understand she is doing much better today but, due to my having surgery tomorrow she will not be able to visit me. I know she is extremely disappointed as she was fighting to get better so that she could come out with a clean afghan for me along with some treats and a stuffed teddy bear that someone sent to me for Valentine’s Day.

Anyway, that’s all I can report for now. By the way, with Dad going out of town Mom won’t be able to post any updates until he returns as he is the one that knows how to post on the website. Mom says he’s the computer nerd and she just knows how to type and get her emails.

Oh, before I forget guys! That nice lady that knitted all those afghans for me, Mom told me her name is Kathy Zuber. Any way, Dad placed three examples of her work on Mom’s website so she could get more publicity for her wonderful pieces of art and talent. I sure hope you guys will purchase one of them. Take it from me, they will keep you real warm and they are really soft. I know first hand! Also, for every afghan that is purchased Kathy will donate a portion of the proceeds towards my medical expenses and to the Collies that are in Mom’s Sanctuary Program. Even if you do not wish to purchase one, just take a look!

One other thing before I go, I want to thank you all again for your continued prayers and keeping me in your thoughts! I know Mom appreciates every one of you as I do!

Hugs and kisses to you all!

Will
