Hi! My name is Will. Those are my pictures above! I was shot in the face about two weeks ago. Due to this injury, my nose swell up about three times the normal size. As I was wondering the streets I climbed onto someone’s porch looking for help but instead he called animal control and they came and got me and took me to a shelter in Louisiana.

Upon my arrival, the staff examined my nose and could not figure out what happened to me. They thought perhaps I was hit by a car or bit by a snake. The next morning when they came to check on me, they found a big hole in the side of my face going to my little black nose.

Then Tuesday morning came and a real nice lady from Mississippi came to get me out of this place. We drove for about two hours and then stopped somewhere. Then a really nice man came out and looked at me. He told my new mom that he did not know if he could do anything because there was nothing to work with, there was no skin to sew, but he told her to leave me over night and he would try to sew my face back up, which he did successfully.

When this nice man opened up my nose the next morning, he noticed a horrible infection that was rotting my skin away I guess that’s how I got the hole in my nose. Anyway he also noticed that my bone was completely shattered along with my sinuses. No wonder I felt so bad! Well he started to clean me up and then pulled whatever skin I had left down so that he could sew me back up. In the process, I stopped breathing twice but they were able to revive me.

During this horrible thing they were doing to me my nose fell off because of the hole and the infection rotting away my skin. They could not reattach my nose due to the rot so they made this hole where my nose used to be and inserted a tube so that I could breathe. He also reconstructed my nose as best as he could. After a long 1 ½ hour delicate operation it was over and I did not have a hole in my face anymore.

When my new mom came by I heard this nice man who took care of me say “Barbara, I really don’t know if he’s going to make it through the night. Guess what? I fooled him! The next morning when he came in to check on me I was in high spirits, gobbled my breakfast down and wagged my tail at him. After seeing this he told my new mom “he needs to go to Mississippi State to have a nose reconstruction”, I just don’t have the facility and tools to do it. I think I heard my new mom call him Dr. Rick Kirby. Anyway, I am scheduled to go to this place first thing Monday morning for my operation. Boy, maybe I can get a new black nose and get this uncomfortable tube out of here.

This surgery for my new nose is estimated to cost $3,000-$4,000 dollars. Wow that is a lot of money! If any one would like to help me get this much needed surgery any donation I would be very thankful for and grateful too! I am suppose to be at this place for at least a week so I won’t see my new mom but I’m sure she’ll call everyday to check on me. By the way, my name is Will because my new mom said I display such a strong will to live, pretty neat hah? By the way, there will be an update on mom’s website to let everyone know how I’m doing.

My new mom just wanted to add something and this is what she had to say. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for wanting to help Will with the upcoming expenses to give him a new nose!
