Text Box: Hi my friends, it’s me Will with another update! Sorry there has not been any news lately but there was nothing to report until Mom called Mississippi State on Monday when I was originally scheduled to return for my first surgery. Unfortunately, my tissue extenders still have not arrived as they are being special made for me due to all the injuries I sustained from that horrible person who shot me in the face almost two months ago. It has been so long, I feel that those people at Mississippi State forgot about me but Mom keeps reassuring me that they have not and when my extenders come in Dr. Lathan told Mom that one of my surgeons will be contacting her as to let her know when I need to go back to that place.

Mom was originally going to put my update on Saturday night as Friday was her birthday and they were going out to dinner. Even though she should have been happy all day that it was her birthday, she was very sad and I did not understand why until later. Dad received a phone call early that morning about one of her senior Collies in her Sanctuary Program that she had to rush to the vet on Wednesday morning due to having a severe stroke the night before. Hope had been there since I guess to be taken care of like they did me at Mississippi State but much different because it isn’t a long drive.

After he hung up the phone he went to find Mom and said that she needed to go to the vet immediately as Hope had another severe stroke and was not doing well at all, poor old gal! Any way, Mom rushed out of the house about 8:30 that morning to go be with Hope. Well, sadly enough, it turns out that Mom had to make a horrible decision and put Hope down very shortly after she arrived. She came home crying and then I knew something was very wrong. She called Dad at the office and told him that Hope was gone and then I understood all too well! Boy! I really wished I could have done something for Mom! Every time she looked in on me I would get up and greet her and wag my tail and she managed to smile even though I knew she was very sad. But that was my way of telling her how sorry I was about her loosing Hope.

Then Mom told us all that she needed to do something and she would be back and she went on to tell us all that she loved us and would be back soon. Boy, hours went by and I started to worry about her and then the back door opened. She came in with a bag with something in it carefully wrapped and she had tears in her eyes again – it was Hope’s urn. As upset as Mom was she was truly amazing to pick out such a beautiful urn, I caught a glimpse of it. She must have gone to ten stores before she chose this one. It’s a beautiful china piece with pretty
flowers on it and has 24 kt gold handles and 24 kt gold also going around the rim.

Mom was truly happy to be able to find the perfect urn for Hope. Mom is going to pick Hope up tomorrow morning to bring her home. I’m really proud of Mom with all that she does even through the toughest times and still manages to be there for each one of us, especially me with all my special needs! Someone called her just last week about a two year old female in a shelter that was going to be put down due to being over crowded and she drove three-half hours to pull her. She thinks she may be heartworm positive as she is doing a lot of coughing, probably needs to be spayed and of course fully vaccinated.
